RACE MARSHALS

_edited.jpg
WANTED - RACE MARSHALS

THE RACES DEPENDS ON OBTAINING 'MARSHALS' TO ASSIST IN THE RACES.  Therefore we would ask, if you are not competing in the above races, then please consider marshalling to help out, or if you can persuade a friend to marshal, this would also be appreciated. It is also a good way of seeing what the race is about if your thinking of doing it in the future.

If interested in marshalling in the races, then please phone Jim on 01786 841715.

Race Volunteers – Please sign up and join us!
The West Highland Way 'Challenge' Race can only take place with the support and hard work of all the Race Support Team and our volunteers. Thanks again to all of you who have supported the WHW 'Challenge' Race in previous years. Awesome job everyone!

THOSE WHO 'MARSH
AL' RECEIVE 'RACE ATTENDANCE FUEL MONEY'  AND ALSO A 'FREE ENTRY' FOR THEMSELVES INTO THE FOLLOWING YEARS RACE.

Volunteering and being part of the support team is a very rewarding experience.  The banter and atmosphere amongst all volunteers and competitors alike make for a great fun weekend.  It is also hard work and requires a 'roll your sleeves up' and get stuck in where needed approach.

"Great fun being a volunteer.  Great team work. Encouraged many runners/walkers/joggers to keep going.  Food and drink was fab too.  The generous amount and variety went down well" Volunteer 2018

"Loved being part of the race support team this year. Helping, encouraging, re-assuring and feeding the competitors at various stages on the route was great fun.  Did not realise just how popular hot soup and hot dogs can be with long distance runners, the food of champions!  It was hard work and I was knackered come Sunday night but I am so glad I did it.  Great Event. Great Experience. Thanks to all involved."  Volunteer 2019

We are currently looking for volunteers for the 2023 West Highland Way 'Challenge' Race for the last week-end in May 2023.  Opportunities exist to help out at Race Registration and at check points along the route.  Ideally we are looking for volunteers who are happy to work a long shift at check point/s.  The work involved would be set up of the check point, greeting and supporting all competitors from the first to the last, then packing away the check point and heading on to another location or home if only covering a few hours, where similar help and support is needed.

Sounds like an experience you would enjoy?  Fancy joining us and being part of an amazing event
